Vintage Cartier Ship Wheel Shape Silver Guilloché Pocket Watch in Yellow Gold from 1910-1915
Yellow gold (18-carat), enamel and sapphire-set, open-face, keyless-winding, round-shaped, thin pocket watch in the shape of a ship’s wheel.
Case: three-piece, polished, with five sapphire cabochons set in mounts fixed to the case-band and a sixth sapphire cabochon set in the winding-crown; case-back enamelled in polychrome, with the New York Yacht Club emblems (two maritime flags crossed) in the centre.
Dial: silver colour, guilloché (engine-turned), with black painted suspended Arabic numerals and external minute track; blued steel “Breguet” hands.
Movement: calibre 17’’’, thin, 17 jewels, gilded brass, going barrel, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws, blued steel flat hairspring, polished steel index-regulator
