The production of Cloisonné Enamel dials is an extremely costly and delicate undertaking that relied on highly skilled craftsman. It can never be produced through machineries and therefore, each Cloisonné Enamel is pièce unique. The stunning example here presents a natural tints of red and orange as a backdrop for the lion that is still vibrant till this day.

Founded in 1854 with the opening of a small watchmaker’s shop in the Swiss city of Lucerne, Gübelin was to retail watches from the most reputable watchmakers in Switzerland, such as Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger Le-Coultre and over time, they ventured into Haute Jewellery, setting up their own jewellery atelier and a gemmological laboratory. The business grew and the atelier moved and settled in the prime site on the quay that still houses Gübelin ‘s Lucerne boutique today. Other than cross-branding and production of watches with reputable Swiss watchmakers, they produced notable models such as the Ipso-Vox alarm ,the Ipsomatic, the Ipso-Day and Ipso-Date.
